Hi I'm Dougie Wells, welcome to my Web site! This site will develop over time. For the moment it will contain primarily information on the build of my Locost car with some work stuff. As to the Locost you are probably aware of the book by Ron Champion giving detailed instructions on how to build a sports car for an unfeasibly small amount of money. There is a growing number of people on and off the web who have decided to have a go at it - enough apparently to distort the value of the donor cars in some areas. The Locost is a Lotus 7 type clone car with a spaceframe triangulated chassis.The donor drivetrain in the book is Ford Escort Mk II but there are people round the world using all sorts of donor bits from RX7 to Toyota.There are links to some of these sites in the Favourites page.
